Advanced Academy Girls 03/4 Sweep 2017 Firecracker

In their first-ever tournament, Eagleclaw's Advanced Academy 03/4 girls team brought home the Firecracker trophy! Playing to the name of the tournament, Eagleclaw's Advanced Academy girls lit the fuse and hit the field like a stick of dynamite. Led by Head Coach Tao Shen, the team opened the tournament against Emerald City FC G03 Green notching 4 first-half goals on their way to a 4-0 victory. More victories followed against Northwest United G03 Red, Snohomish United G03B and a win in the Final against Washington Rush G03 Nero.

The team's performance was all the more impressive considering the team is a hybrid-age team, but features only one 2003 player and did not allow a single goal throughout the tournament. This amazing performance followed a 4-week pre-season training period in which the players underwent intensive training in Eagleclaw's "Positional Play" style.

"This team really understands the "Eagleclaw Way", said Executive Director Joe Campos. "To a player, they exhibited the technical brilliance that is the hallmark of our club, and showed how players who understand how to play a possession style and think quickly can achieve superiority against opponents who may be older and physically stronger."

Next up for the team is a week-long team training camp with the coaching staff from the Valencia CF youth academy!
